Understanding Rhetoric

This picture helps me understand rhetoric by putting the triangle into real world, everyday context of a conversation and how it can be misinterpreted. The rhetor was trying to convey a message (a compliment), but the context or tone could have made the audience, the recipient, take it as an insult/backhanded compliment.
